Dr. Eduardo Leite, a business and management expert, began his professional life as a soccer player with such notable Portuguese football clubs as Gil Vicente, Desportivo das Aves, Feirense, Sanjoanense and Arrifanense. After retiring from professional sports he went on into business and doctoral research, focusing on management, entrepreneurship, and business finance. Eduardo lived through Portugal’s recent Great Recession, an economic depression the likes of the U.S.’ Great Depression of 1929. Those hard economic times forced Eduardo and many of his fellow Portuguese to recover through personal reconstruction. He earned a masters’ degree in business administration in 2003, and a doctorate in management (finance) in 2007 from the Universidade de Trás–os-Montes Alto Douro in Vila Real, Portugal. He coauthored Decisões de Investimento (“Investment Decisions”), a book on personal finance. Eduardo is married and has three children.
